This was announced by Tiaty MP Kassait Kamket who maintained that KANU would field a candidate in 2022, an announcement that will not sit well with the pro-Ruto camp.

''We will be working with like-minded leaders. We have already begun the process of talking to leaders of the other parties. We are in deep talks with O.D.M. We are in serious discussions with Wiper and we are in very serious discussions with a section of Jubilee,'' Kassait Kamket said.

The move is aimed at kick-starting Gideon Moi's 2022 presidential ambitions.

This announcement comes in the context of unease amongst a section of Rift Valley politicians who want Gideon Moi to abandon his ambitions and throw his weight behind William Ruto who will run in 2022.

His discussions with sections in Jubilee could divide the ruling party and complicate Ruto's shot at the presidency.
