The supremacy battle between Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Deputy President William Ruto continued over the weekend, after the senator demanded that the DP appreciates Kanu’s support for Jubilee Party.

The Kanu chairman said Ruto must appreciate that if Uhuru wins the upcoming election, he will also enjoy the victory.

Kanu announced it will support the re-election bid of President Uhuru Kenyatta, even after flirting with opposition coalition NASA.

"We, as KANU, have granted them support. An Uhuru win means a win for his deputy, but I wonder why he (Ruto) keeps pursuing me,” Moi said on Sunday at Emining in Baringo County.

The son to former President Daniel Moi also told the DP to keep off his political campaigns and refrain from attacking him during rallies.

The two leaders have for a long time engaged in a supremacy battle over who controls the Rift Valley region which is dominated by the Kalenjin community.
