Residents of Pegi area in Gilgil are appealing to the government to send bomb experts.
This comes after identification of several bombs which are claimed to be remnants of the world wars fighting machinery.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the residents said they are living in fear, especially because of their children who are sometimes found playing with the bombs unaware of the danger glaring them.
According Nyumba Kumi initiative chairman in the area, Timothy Wanjohi, there are several bombs which have been discovered during the on-going road construction.
"We have been calling army officers to help us in disposing of the bombs but they have become too many and we don't know how many are still left," said Wanjohi.
He said that they want the national government to dispatch bomb experts to thoroughly comb the mountain in the area and get rid of any remaining explosive.
"Prevention is better than cure. Let us have the bomb experts here to help us in guarding lives and preventing future disaster," said Wanjohi.
