Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has denied embezzling a Nakuru women Fund that is under his patronage and said that the money is safe and would soon disbursed to respective wards.

Speaking on Tuesday in his office in Nakuru Town, Gikaria said that no money has been embezzled and accused his political detractors of tainting his name.

“No money from the women group has been ' eaten' and soon the concerned Wards will receive their share,” said Gikaria.

The Nakuru women fund comprises women from five Wards in Nakuru town, and has Sh14 million that was raised during a fund raise by the Deputy president on October 5 at Menengai Ward.

Gikaria said that Biashara Ward which has the highest electorate will receive Sh6 million while Flamingo, Menengai, Kivumbini, and Lake view Wards will share Sh2 million each.

He said that the money would benefit the women to expand their enterprises.

“The money will empower women to expand their ventures and contribute to the growth of the county,” said Gikaria.

He however urged the women from the five Wards to utilize their money by investing in wise investments to enable them reap maximum benefits.
