Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has made it clear that he has no personal issues with Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua.
Speaking in his constituency on Monday, the MP said he respects Governor Mbugua as an elected leader.
"Having differing views doesn't mean that we are enemies. Governor Mbugua is a respectable person who the people of Nakuru elected to represent them. Its just that my opinions and his don't seem compatible," said the outspoken MP.
Last year, Gikaria differed with the county government for evicting hawkers from the CBD in a bid to 'clean up the town'.
The lawmaker found himself in the dock at the Nakuru law courts for allegedly obstructing the operations of the county government.
The two leaders also were in disunity during the war against illicit liquor in the county, a directive given by the President Uhuru Kenyatta last year.
Gikaria accused the governor of issuing more licences and failing to act as per the President's directive.
The MPs remarks come shortly after the governor was heckled by crowds alongside the county woman representative, Mrs Mary Mbugua during the last week's presidential tour.
Gikaria and his Nakuru Town West counterpart, Samwel Arama were given a chance to address the crowds during the visit.
He spoke when he met beneficiaries of school fees bursaries in Free Area.
Gikaria has assured the beneficiaries of the CDF bursary that they will receive the cheques by next week.
"Nakuru Town East school bursaries amounting to Sh2 million shall be deposited in the respective schools by the end of next week, and those who qualified shall be able to view them," he said.
