The four officers were attacked and injured during a demolition exercise aimed at re-establishing sanity and order in the main streets of the town targeting traders with structures in undesignated places.

I am writing to the director of public prosecutions in regard to the matter since the MP has breached the law. There is no where provided in the law that you can impede development by insighting some rowdy youth to attack police officers who are only disposing their mandatory duties.” Kioko charged.

The MP has received has received his fair share of criticism following the incident for which he has openly depicted his defiant stance against that of the County boss Kinuthia Mbugua.

The OCPD has decided to take over the case after various leaders have expressed mixed reactions about the incident mounting pressure on the relevant heads to acct upon the issue.

Gikaria, however, has defended himself saying that the actions were justified and within the interests of the people since the county’s move to kick the traders with make-shift structures out of the town will leave hundreds jobless.

The decision to wipe out the traders out of the town is ill-advised as this will render them jobless. Where will they relocate to? Show them where to go before you effect the order.” Gikaria said in an earlier statement.
