Nakuru Town East lawmaker David Gikaria want prostitution legalised to curb deaths of sex workers in Nakuru.
The MP, who was addressing the press on Monday in his constituency, said legalising sex trade will be a solution to the menace facing the town.
“We may start considering tabling a motion in parliament that champions legalising commercial sex now that those who are in the business are being killed brutally,” Gikaria said.
This follows the death of a sex worker who was found dead at a popular lodge in Nakuru town last Saturday.
The murder is believed to be orchestrated by a syndicate that is out to kill sex workers. The serial killer gang is suspected to be behind seven other deaths in the county where sex workers have been killed mysteriously.
Gikari said that action should be taken by the government to ensure the safety of those involved in the trade.
