Gilgil MP Martha Wangari on Sunday  came out to defend Jubilee actions to amend elections laws ahead of repeat October polls.

Wangare said it is the responsibility of Parliament to legislate for the good of the country .Wangari said  NASA legislators should  not to take instructions from their principals,Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

"It is high time it dawned on NASA legislators that the only legal means for them to put their voice to be heard is to attend Parliament and present their recommendations,"she said.

Wangari said the changes to the election laws are legal and justified since they are sealing loopholes identified by the Supreme Court when the August 8 poll was annulled.

She said the laws will ensure transparency and accountability on the part of electoral officials.

Supreme court annulled the election of President Uhuru on September 1 citing massive irregularities and illegalities after some poll officials failed to complete forms.

On the planned NASA demonstrations set to kick off on Monday, Wangari said the action is misplaced further urging the opposition to concentrate in campaigns instead.

The Opposition wants to use the demos, which will be held weekly, to push for reforms at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and to oppose the election law amendments.
