A sombre mood engulfed a village in Naivasha after a 12-year-old girl was found murdered.

The class seven girl had been missing for two days.

The minor's mother, Monica Nyambura, said the girl did not come back after heading to school in the morning.

Neighbours later spotted her school bag in a thicket and upon a search, her mutilated body was found dumped there.
