A 40-year-old man is on the run after he allegedly defiled and impregnated a class three pupil in Miwani in Kisumu County.
The man, who is a father of seven, is said to have gone into hiding on Sunday evening after he got wind that the police were looking for him.
The 13-year-old girl who lives with the father still attends school regularly even though she is four months pregnant.
Despite the chains of repeated rape, there is only a single report to the police that was made by the parents only last Sunday.
“I didn’t even tell my dad because he promised to kill me should I tell anyone about this,” said the girl.
The girl’s mother who separated with the father three years ago led her to Miwani Dispensary on Tuesday to have checked only for the report to turn out positive. The nurse in-charge at the Miwani Dispensary who examined her reported that the girls’ pregnancy was at an advanced stage.
The police station where the case was reported has a hard task to perform but a police officer privy to the report stated that the investigation will slightly delay until a paternity test of who the child’s father is done.
Since Sunday, the suspect has been operating his businesses in his hideout. Somewhere known only to his wife with whom they have sired seven.
“I leave at five in the morning daily and come home late, now it’s difficult to know what happens to the children,” said her father.
The girl who is anaemic and constantly asthmatic as well will soon drop out of school to prepare for motherhood, something she has no idea about.
