Area deputy county commissioner Geoffrey Omoding’ said the candidate was rushed to the neighboring Kitengela Medical Centre after developing labor pains in examination room on Tuesday.

Omoding’ said police officers helped rush her to the hospital where she successfully delivered her baby.

He said special arrangements were promptly made by Knec officials, Ministry of Education and his office to ensure the girl sits all the papers.

Omoding’ who addressed the press in his office on Wednesday said the candidate had sat the paper that had been suspended when she developed the labor pain before being taken to hospital.

He said the government had provided her with enough security officers and examinations supervisors to issue her KCSE papers and ensure she is closely monitored at the hospital bed.

Omoding’ said the girl will be served with the papers at the facility where she is admitted with the baby until they are discharged when their conditions become stable.

He said the government is committed to ensuring that all children who registered for the examinations sit them successfully as their constitutional rights.

Omoding’ condemned men who lure underage school going girls into sex thereby impregnating them.

He said his office will not tolerate such culprits because they make many girls drop out of school due to early pregnancies hence shutting their lifelong dreams.

Omoding’ said truck drivers and turn boys dealing in sand and quarry around Empakasi Secondary School were reportedly scavenging on girls learning at the institution and others around.

He said parents and teachers should quickly intervene into the issue to prevent the men from impregnating more underage children especially during the long Christmas holiday.

Omoding’ said parents should be more responsible to ensure their female children in day schools are safeguarded from sex “pests” by providing them with basic necessities which they require in school and at home.

He said girls’ residences should be well protected to keep them safe and reduce their vulnerabilities.

Omoding’ said men who get into intimate relationships with school going children will be arrested and charged in court just like rapists.
