Girsl performed better than boys in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i while releasing the results on said that the tremendous performance of girls is notable with many of them emerging at the top.

“Looking at the overall examination results, female candidates have performed better than male candidates. Actually in each of six subjects female candidates have performed way better than their male counterparts,” Matiang’i said.

In addition, Matiang'i said that overaly, top performing schools were girls.

“If start telling you about the schools that have come out outstandingly, you will notice that the bulk of the schools that have done well are also girl’s schools,” he said.

“My colleagues told me to single out schools that have done well. Alliance Girls performed very well showing a measure of consistency in their performance, Kenya High but the one that has impressed us all is Pangani Girls,” Matiang’i said
