Martin Kamotho, the man who broke the internet on August 8, after he was captured queuing to vote while carrying githeri in a plastic bag, has received goodies worth over Sh200,000.
Telecommunications giant Safaricom on Thursday evening awarded the now famous ‘Githeri Man’ a Samsung Galaxy S8 plus phone worth Sh90,000.
His wife was also given a similar phone, while their daughter was given a Tecno Camon CX phone worth Sh40,000.
He said he had not seen his images trending since he did not have a smartphone.
Kamotho, 41, who lives in Kayole estate in Nairobi said he bought the githeri to fight off pangs of hunger on the elections day.
