Githunguri Sub County Commissioner Julius Mutula has hailed devolution saying it has recorded tremendous development at grassroots level.

In an exclusive interview with this writer, in his office, on Thursday Mutula said devolution has enabled citizens to easily access facilities.

According to the commissioner the 2-year old system of governance has facilitated ease in access to resources.

He noted that since the onset of devolution areas classified as marginalised has started developing.

“We have seen the so called villages starting to shine. Roads being constructed, public health amenities equipped among many other projects initiated by the county government,” notes Mutula.

He expressed his optimism that the new system of governance will propel this nation towards achieving vision 2030.

He called on citizens to be patient as counties set up structures that will help in bringing resources closer to them, mentioning the recent Githunguri roads construction project initiated by the county government.

James Morage, Githunguri resident, lauded county governments efforts of improving the infrastractures. 

Morage however urged county government to involve public when coming up with policies and legislation that may affect them.
