Githurai Youth Bunge (GYB) is meant to empower youth and women in the sub county.

The group targets to unite all the youths in the county and mobilize them on how to deal with security, drugs and substance abuse.

Speaking in Githurai on Monday group speaker, John Kiruta, said their first agenda will be unemployment.

“We will be discussing on how to curb unemployment among young people. We will come up with the ways which will help our young people to venture into business, hence taming crime in the region,” said Kiruta.

For a long period Githurai has been faced with insecurity and this has been a major concern to residents.

Kiruta said that by the time the GYB spread to the county level, Githurai will be a peaceful place and people will carry out their business without fear.

“Githurai will be a place where people will admire and it will attract more investors,” said Kiruta.

He said that drugs and substance abuse is also the major concern in the region and with the help with the county government, they will tame it .

The launching of GYB was graced by Kiambu County Governor, William Kabogo, who hailed the group for the idea.

“I will support you to make Kiambu a better place,” said Kabogo.
