During a meeting in Kahawa Wendani Community Hall, Elizabeth Kadesa, the group’s chairperson, said that the group consists of 12 members who are Kenyatta University psychology students.

She said that they started the group two months ago on realising that many youths had become drug addicts.

“We visit different churches to educate the youths about drugs and also visit primary and secondary schools as well as colleges as children are also being introduced to drugs at a tender age,” said Kadesa.

Kadesa noted that many campus students tend to abuse drugs and some end up dropping out of school, wrecking their lives in the process.

John Mwangi, a member of the group said that some youths often seek solace in abusing drugs due to family problems and stress.

“Parents should also help in educating their children and getting involved in their lives so as to know what they are up to,” said Mwangi.

He urged youths to focus on important things like their education and not drugs as they are of no benefit to them.
