Gituamba Ward MCA Samuel Ng'ang'a has called upon the county government of Kiambu to rehabilitate feeder roads in his ward.
Ng'ang'a said that many of the roads are not tarmacked neither are they murram roads which makes it hard for farmers to take their farm produce to the market.
Speaking to residents at Gituamba shopping centre on Thursaday, Ng'ang'a noted that rehabilitation of feeder roads has entirely been left to tea factories which has a negative ripple effect on the earnings of the tea farmers.
"Village feeder roads belong to the county government but we rarely see them on the ground making these roads. It has become the work of our tea factories to murrum them and we know it is the farmers who bear the costs,” said Ng'ang'a.
The MCA also noted that milk farmers were being forced to walk for long distances to where the main roads are as milk delivery trucks cannot access the village roads.
"Residents must see the value of their taxes through efficient service delivery,” he said.
