Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura has come out to explain the reason why he lost in the Jubilee nominations.

According to Gitura, his differences with Governor Mwangi wa Iria over corruption in the county cost him the Jubilee Party ticket.

Speaking to journalists on Monday Gitura maintained that he would not relent in his oversight role if re-elected.

Mr Gitura has vowed to push on with the war on graft.

The Senate Deputy Speaker was on Monday cleared to vie as an independent candidate.

"I am a crusader against corruption and I have carried out that role very diligently to the best of my ability," he said.
