Speaking on Monday at Gusii Stadium during the launch of the county flag, Zebedeo Opore, said that he would empower the vulnerable groups in the society.

He asked Governor James Ongwae to be bi-partisan while giving out tenders, so that the disadvantaged groups do not miss out on their right.

“I ask Governor Ongwae to help the vulnerable groups in the county get the tenders so that they can get capital to start projects and businesses. This will enable them be empowered economically for self-reliance and reduce dependence among the youth, women, and the disabled,” the MP appealed.

However, Opore hailed the county government for its efforts towards development and pledged to input his support to ensure the governor achieves his objectives for the county.

He asked women and the youth from Kisii County to use the Uwezo funds well so that it can enable them carry out projects and blossom in life.

“I urge the youth and women from our county to utilize well the Uwezo funds so that it can make them prosper and be responsible,” he said.

The legislator suggested the county should have an annual day to venerate the achievements it has registered.

“The day we have inaugurated and hoisted our county flag should be an annual event to review the progress of the county government. It should be county development day,” said Opore.
