The business community in Lari Sub County has been encouraged to sponsor projects that aim at uplifting the lives of locals.

Speaking to news reporters at his office on Sunday, Lari Sub county business and professional chairman Paul Kimani said the business community must give back to the society.

He said that sponsoring development projects and activities is a social role that should be taken by business people.

“The business community should take the responsibility and will of giving back to the society,” he said.

Kimani observed that many residents in Lari are living under abject poverty with many of them lacking basic commodities.

He said that time has come for the business community to contribute and help better the living standards of the people.

Kimani also asked sub county security personnel to boost security for businesses and residents. He said that they depend on police protection adding that there is need for more patrols in order to deal with criminals.

Kimani on the same note lauded the sub county for working hard to maintaining security observing that cases of crime have declined.

He said they will continue to support police efforts aimed at marinating calm and order.
