Speaking in Njoro at  St. Francis secondary school, Lare, Kihika said bursaries are not scholarships to lock out students who do not perform well.

"We can't continue denying needy students bursaries on the excuse that they didn't score above C-, " Kihika said.

The county government of Nakuru has announced that only students who achieve grade C- and above will be considered for the bursaries.

Kihika, however, dismissed this approach saying many students perform poorly due to fee constraints.

The vocal senator has before promised to be the Nakuru peoples watchman to ensure they are served by the government accordingly.
