Led by Mwangi Wamwangi (Hospital ward) and Elizabeth Muthoni (Kamenu ward), the ward representatives cautioned the MPs who have been urging the governor to honour the senate summons.

The MPs, led by Alice Ng'ang'a of Thika and Kimani Ichung'wa of Kikuyu, have been calling on Kabogo to go before the senate committee on finance and explain how his county has used the development funds in the previous financial year.

Speaking in Thika town during the opening of the county courts, the leaders said that the governor is fully aware of his responsibilities and need not be reminded by anyone.

“Our governor has been in the leadership roles for years and he is aware of his mandate to serve the people who elected him into office, so stop politicising things as you showcase yourself to the people yet you don't bring any developments," an angry Muthoni said.

This comes after Kabogo fought back the claims that he has mishandled the public funds and he is not willing to be exposed by the senate committee.

Earlier on, the committee chair Boniface Khalwale had cautioned Kabogo that his county may not receive funds unless he appears before the committee.
