The Kisii County government should be given humble time to deliver on its pre-election promises without coercion, an MCA has said.
Speaking in his Bomariba ward on Sunday during a fundraising, leader of majority Protus Moindi said the governor and his entire administration was on course to deliver their promises before 2017.
He asked those faulting Governor James Ongwae’s regime to wait till 2017 and let the voters decide who will take the helm of power in the county.
“The county government had pledged a lot during the 2013 elections. The governor is trying his best to have all done before 2017. Therefore, no one should mislead you that the government is non-committal,” he said.
“Some people have started launching their ambitions ahead of 2017. Please do not give attention to such leaders because they are the same hampering development in our county,” Moindi said amidst cheers from the crowd.
The leader of majority asked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration to withdraw soldiers from war-torn Somalia as a way of countering the Al Shabaab militia.
“As political leaders, security of our electorates is mandatory hence we should not politicise it. However, time has come for the president to withdraw soldiers from Somalia and guard our borders,” he said.
