The media should deny politicians propagating hate speech coverage and instead highlight important issues of national development.
Speaking when he visited Raia TV in Mombasa, alongside the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Management and staff, the Board's CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua said the next few days would determine the future of the country.
He urged the media to play a uniting role in the build up to the repeat elections, noting that failure on the part of the media to regulate themselves could invite government regulation.
Dr Mutua, during the Saturday visit, reiterated KFCB's commitment to facilitate growth in the creative industry, saying the industry will play a defining role in fostering the country's economic development.
He applauded Raia TV for promoting local content and pledged that KFCB would continue working with supportive institutions to promote local content under the Sinema Mashinani project.
