A clergyman in Eldoret town has challenged political leaders both in Jubilee and the National Super Alliance (NASA) to respect independent institutions in the country.

The Jesus is Live ministries Bishop Wilson Kurui says there is need for institutions created by the constitution to be given ample time to deliver in their mandate.

Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, Bishop Kurui criticised politicians for attacking the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as well as the judiciary.

He said IEBC should be allowed to prepare well for the repeat of presidential elections in October 17.

"There's no point of saying we don't want so and so. What we need now is to allow IEBC to prepare adequately for the repeat elections and give chance to Kenyans to elect their leader," noted Bishop Kurui.

NASA has been calling on several top officials at the IEBC led by CEO Ezra Chiloba to quit on claims that they were part of the team that helped in manipulation of the presidential results.
