Speaking on Tuesday at Iranya village in a fund rising, Hon. Walter Nyambati said construction of feeder roads in the area would help majority of the residents who are farmers to transport their outputs to various destinations.

He said many roads were in poor conditions despite massive budget set aside by area county government to repair roads.

“Many of the residents in the region are dedicated peasant farmers and they need better roads. These roads will enable them transport their outputs to various destinations. That is why investing in the infrastructure is key to other activities,” he said.

“The county government must admit that many of our roads are in poor conditions. For the second year in running, we have herd of massive resources diverted into the road sector but unfortunately, nothing much has been done,” he added.

He challenged the county government to embrace public participation in developmental activities as enshrined in the new constitution and dispensation.

“The new constitution calls for more public participation in development. Unfortunately though, the county government has repeatedly violated the provision since we really hear of the public being required to give their views. Time has come for the leadership to ensure that is done,” he added.
