Cord leader Raila Odinga has been urged to give former Orange Democratic Secretary General Ababu Namwamba a second chance by avoiding ‘tearing’ him apart during his planned tour to Budalangi later this week.
This comes a few days after Deputy President William Ruto hinted that the recent decamping of ODM leaders was as a result of his political fireworks and that Namwamba was headed to Jubilee Alliance Party.
But Chitago–Borabu MCA Albert Oino has come under the defense of the embattled Budalangi MP by challenging Mr Odinga to spare him by giving him a second chance.
“It seems Ababu was misled by certain politicians and his war against the party leader may not yield anything. He has been one of us for a long time and I think it will be appropriate if he is given a second chance,” he said during an interview with the reporter.
“He swore in the name of Raila in 2007 and has remained loyal all this time. I plead with Odinga to spare Ababu while in Budalangi and focus on general national politics rather than tearing him apart,” he said.
He also urged the ODM leadership to summon all rebels and give them an opportunity to air their grievances in a structured manner.
“Making political mistakes is common and what ODM should do is summoning all rebels and give them a chance to air their grievances. These people should be given a second chance to serve the party because at times they make decisions out of poor political advice,” he said.
