Politicians both from Jubilee and CORD have been urged to give the acting cabinet secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Mr Joseph Nkaissery time to deliver.
Speaking at Thika Stadium after a football tournament finals, Thika Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a said former interior cabinet secretary Joseph Ole Lenku and Inspector General David Kimaiyo were subjected to pressure thus could not deliver to Kenyans’ expectations.
She said that the resignation of Kimaiyo will not guarantee full security in Kenya since security should start with individuals in the country.
“Kimaiyo stepping down is not the key to security in Kenya therefore we as Kenyans should be our own police to arrest the perpetrators,” urged the MP.
The legislator stated: “Nkaissery is not a god and thus Kenyans should still be on the look out to tame insecurity in the country.”
Joseph Nkaissery was appointed by the president to replace Joseph Ole Lenku who was accused of being incompetent.
The MP hailed the president Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Nkaissery despite political affiliation terming it good leadership and proper national healing.
“Uhuru appointing Nkaissery is an act of good leadership despite political differences. It symbolises unity,” said Ng’ang’a.
The lawmaker cautioned Nkaisseri to be deaf on criticism that will make him lose willpower to work and subject him into pressure but instead be vigilant to tame insecurity in the country.
