Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna wants students to be given paramilitary training before joining colleges/universities as a way of shielding them from terror attacks.
Kiuna spoke during the funeral of Moses Njuguna today in Ngano-ini village in Naishi, Njoro. Njuguna was a student who died in the Garissa Attacks.
Kiuna said that terrorism was now a global reality and that Kenya has to realize it before it was too late.
“We need to give some military training to the youth, evenmoreso to the groups that are vulnerable to attacks like students. This will enable to them to know how to deal with an attack situation as they wait for security agents to rescue them,” said Kiuna.
Kiuna said that Kenya, just like Israel had to come to the realization that she was fighting an enemy within and outside her borders.
He also asked the President and his Deputy not to bow to any pressure to withdraw KDF from Somalia saying that it would worsen the current security situation.
The MP expressed remorse and asked Njuguna's family to remain strong amid this turbulent time saying the Garissa attack victims paid the ultimate price for these country to break from shackles of terrorism.
