[Photo/standard]Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga risks loosing her seat days after the recent concluded August 8 polls.This is after she attacked the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) for slashing Member of Parliaments' salaries.Wanga who is a member of the outgoing PSC team said on Wednesday that the new pay for MPs was meant to reduce them to beggars adding that legislators would not accept anything less than the package MPs in the 11th Parliament were taking home.Her sentiments on the pay cut received a lot of criticism from a section of Kenyans and politicians from both political divide.Homa Bay County Youth Bunge have threatened to lead locals from the county to sign petitions seeking to oust the ODM vocal legislator.Through a statement from the youth's chairperson Chrispory Juma, they termed Wanga's remarks as reckless.“We are utterly dismayed and saddened by the reckless statements attributed to our Woman Representative Gladys Wanga admonishing the SRC over plans to slash MP’s salaries in efforts to reduce our nation’s wage bill,” read part of the statement.They asked her to apologise, failure to which they would take action.“She must follow the Kiambu woman representative action of apologising to residents of Kiambu County and Kenyans or we shall seek legal means to recall he,” said Juma.
