Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga has suffered a major blow after she was dropped from ODM's list of nominees to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
The National Super Alliance (NASA) on Thursday nominated Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa (ODM) and Vihiga Senator George Khaniri (ANC) to the powerful commission.
This comes amid internal wrangles within the opposition coalition, over how to share the three available slots.
National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi had on Monday nominated Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Wanga and Jumwa to the commission.
The coalition was however forced to go back to the drawing board after National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi on Wednesday approved Wiper nominee Borabu MP Benson Momanyi.
Wiper’s move to nominate Momanyi was not received well by the other opposition partners who accused the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party of warming up to Jubilee.
Wanga, who was a PSC commissioner in the 11th Parliament, was facing opposition from Jubilee MPs over her hard stand against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
The Jubilee nominees to the PSC are Naomi Shaban, Adan Keynan, Beth Mugo and Aaron Cheruiyot.
