Speaking on Radio Citizen Tuesday morning, the opposition member faulted recent claims from Ruto's allies that the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief is out to sabotage his 2022 presidential bid, maintaining that the handshakes are solely aimed at national healing.

With the latest handshake following the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader's surprise meeting with retired President Daniel Moi at the former head of state's home in Kabarak, Nakuru county on Thursday April 12, Wanga pointed out that Odinga is yet to announce his plans for the race, urging the DP to concentrate on serving Kenyans.

''We understand that a section of the Rift Valley politicians led by DP Ruto are suspicious and fearful that Odinga's recent activities could be a plan to paralyze his 2022 presidential bid but thats not the case as the former Premier is simply keeping his recent national cohesion promise,'' she said.

''Ruto and team should concentrate on delivering on their agenda as Odinga is well aware that we are past the political period and will not, obviously, want to take the nation back to campaigns right now. His recent meeting with Moi was also a follow up on his health and not a political move,'' added the Odinga ally.

Odinga has since shook hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Uhuru's uncle George Muhoho and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.
