With doubts being cast on the future of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga amid the ongoing political wars over referendum push by Raila's ODM party, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga is now adding his voice onto the matter.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Wanga, a key Raila ally asked the President to keep of 2022 politics from the handshake if they are to support the government's "Big Four" agenda.
" If you want us to work together to achieve the big four agenda, remove 2022 from the equation of the handshake," said the vocal ODM MP.
While warning on the dangers of failing to honour the handshake deal, Wanga said that the newfound peace in the country may be threatened ahead of the 2022 political contest.
"You may not have a country to rule in 2022 if you kill the handshake," she added.
Wanga'a sentiment comes at a time Raila's lieutenants have been trading political barbs with Deputy President William Ruto over proposed referendum to amend the constitution ahead of the next election.
