The Leader of Majority at the National Assembly Aden Duale has slammed the Opposition, following threats that they would boycott August 8 polls.
Led by Raila Odinga, the Opposition warned that it would not be part of the elections if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), does not audit voters register.
They said the register had duplicate and ghost voters, that their rivals, Jubilee, intended to use, to rig.
However, the Garissa Township MP and strong Jubilee ally told off the Opposition, saying they were free to boycott the elections.
He said they would be conducted on August 8, as planned and would not be postponed, come rain, come sunshine.
"Mr President, elections will be held as planned. I want to tell the people of Nyeri to vote. We are ready for the August 8 elections. If some people are not ready, they should tell us,'' he said.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua, Duale said: "We will vote, and ensure we win, and have president Kenyatta, as our next president.''
