Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has told Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka not gamble with the interests of the Kamba community and instead vie for the country's top job come 2017, if he is man enough.
"Unless Kalonzo is the Cord flag bearer then he should forget about the Kamba votes. The community will not allow itself to be used as a pawn for other people to ascend to power. He is either in the race or not,” said Mutua.
The governor was speaking at his Machakos office when he hosted Mau Mau veterans from the county where he vowed to defend his seat in 2017 polls.
Mutua made it clear that he won't be derailed in his mission to lead his people to the "political and economic Canaan" as he is not interested in other political offices.
He asked elected leaders calling for the disbandment of IEBC to first resign from their positions if they are serious about their mission.
Also present were Machakos County Assembly Majority Leader Joshua Mwonga and Majority Chief Whip Timothy Kilonzo.
Paul Kiiti, the chairman of the Mau Mau veterans, described Mutua as a transformative leader who has initiated tangible development projects in Machakos.
Kiiti also condemned Cord's anti-IEBC protests, saying they were scaring away investors and could fan violence.
