has asked the Education Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed to go slow on education reforms started by her predecessor Dr. Fred Matiangi.

Chepkoilel branch KNUT Executive Secretary Sammy Bor said the reforms were rolled in quick succession and teachers across the Country are facing difficulties in implementing them. The unionists expressed concerns that the numerous reforms may hurt the implementation of the new 2-6-6-3 curriculum."I want to urge Education CS to go slow on most of these reforms since they were done in a hurry and that is why we have noticed errors in the textbooks supplied to teachers by the government," said Bor in his office, Sunday. He cited National Management Information System(NEMIS) and Teacher  Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) as diverting teacher's attention at a time when they are busy implementing the new curriculum. He said it was sad that teachers are busy collecting data for NEMIS and TPAD at the expense of attending to learners."Nowadays teachers spend most of their times in cyber cafe instead of being in classes," added Bor.The Chepkoilel branch KNUT boss advised the Amb. Amina to be consulting with all education stakeholders before implementing any new reforms.
