A middle-aged man who is suspected to have stolen goat was on Friday given a dogs beating before he was frog-marched to Tala police station.

Confirming the incident, Tala OCS said that the man had stolen the goat from Uamani area in Matungulu sub-county Machakos county. 

The suspect had connived with a bodaboda operator who transported the goat to the market for sale before he was nabbed. The owner of the goat identified as Mathew found the suspect busy bargaining with a customer before raising alarm. 

OCS Njiiri advised residents to be vigilant when buying livestock and ensure they have contacts that can trace the seller if things turn sour. 

During an interrogation, the suspect disclosed that it was his first attempt to steal. The suspect is held at Tala police station where he is expected to appear in court on Monday next week.
