A middle-aged man suspected of stealing goats from residents of Kivingoni sub location in Yatta sub-county was arrested on Friday.

According to Kivingoni sub location subchief Josphat Kyalo Sila, the man was found hiding in one forest in Kikuumini area. 

The man allegedly steals goats from villagers and later sells them during market days. 

The man was found having two crates and several ropes that are suspected to be used in transporting the goats he steals. 

"The man was found hiding in one forest together with his bicycle where we suspect he was planning on his next move," said Kyala. 

Kyala said that some villagers identified the man as the one behind the theft of their goats but the police will do a thorough investigation. 

The man is being held at Matuu police station as the police continue with investigation as the man awaits to appear in court on Monday and face theft charges.
