Ten goats and five chickens were on Saturday night consumed by a big inferno which occurred in Mukaa Sub County.
The residents tried to put out the fire but they lacked the right equipment and skill.
The Assistant Chief for Kwa Ndolo Sub Location Fredrick Kilavi confirmed the incident and urged residents to be very vigilant to avoid such occurrences in the future.
“The fire started at around midnight and by the time the residents noticed the fire it was out of control. We tried to rescue the goats but our efforts were futile as the fire was already out of control. Ten goats and five chickens have been consumed by the inferno.” Said Kilavi.
Kilavi said that the cause of the fire has not been established and police are investigating the incident and cause will be known soon.
“The property destroyed is worth 37,000 and we cannot establish the cause of the at the moment but the police have started investigations into the incident and the cause will be revealed after police finish their investigations.” Added Kilavi.
