President Uhuru Kenyatta supporters in the Mount Kenya region will not betray Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 presidential race, an MP jas said.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria assured the DP supporters that contrary to believe that the region cannot support an 'outsider' for the top seat, they will unanimously back Ruto.
Kuria said opposition chief Raila Odinga has no chances of ever leading the country.
"God should give him (Raila Odinga) long life so that he will be able to see William Ruto inspecting a military guard of honour as head of state,” said Kuria.
The vocal MP said there is no debate about Mt Kenya's choice of presidential candidate as the DP has stood with their son (President Kenyatta) for 10 years.
“We have had the very difficult year 2017 politically but we thank God that its over and we will not have the same problems in Kenyan again this year,” he said when he joined residents in Eldoret to usher in the new year.
Kuria was speaking on Monday when he joined Uasin Gishu residents to usher in the New Year.
“On behalf of the people of Mt Kenya, I want to thank you for the support you gave President Uhuru in two elections last year. We guarantee the DP Ruto our support in 2022. Our support for him is like a cheque that we have already written and signed ready for banking”, Kuria said.
