Speaking to the press in Busia Town on Tuesday, Amollo said that Godec has been supporting Jubilee even before and after the August General election when he asked the opposition to accept the results and move on.
“It is evident that Robert Godec has never been independent, He is talking on behalf Jubilee. Even before the elections he was supporting Jubilee. He is among the people who are after an election and not free and fair election,” Amollo said as quoted on Citizen TV.
In addition the legislator said that as opposition they are ready for dialogue on issues of electoral reforms and not supporting the ideas of President Uhuru Kenyatta whom they do not ‘recognize’ as Godec wants them to do.
“We have said that we do not recognize him (Uhuru) as president and therefore we cannot get to table to help him rule. We want to tell Godec that we will not be party to such dialogue,” he added.
The US Ambassador to Kenya has been among the foreign dignitaries who have been pushing the opposition coalition NASA to stop the intended swearing in of their leaders and engage in dialogue with the government.
