United States Ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec, will remain in office even after various envoys around the world headed the call to resign after Trump took power on Friday.
Services at the US embassy will also not be interrupted.
In a report by the Star, Godec will remain in office as he is a member of the Senior Foreign Service and is not a political appointee.
A few ambassadors and diplomats appointed by former US President, Barack Obama, are reported to have left their work stations as is the norm in the United States.
Trump’s transition team early this month demanded all ambassadors appointed by former President Barack Obama to resign by last Friday before the inauguration.
“It is common practice for political appointees to be asked to resign at the end of an administration," said a spokesperson at the embassy as reported by the daily.
The transition team did not ask any career diplomat to resign.
