Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has urged leaders to exercise good governance in order to attract investors.
Speaking in Naivasha on Thursday, Kinyanjui said good governance will create a good environment for leaders and investors to engage.
"We have partners in major water and sanitation projects including the Itare dam project that will supply Nakuru with 100,000 cubic metres a day, Chemususu dam that will supply 10,000 cubic metres daily," Kinyanjui said.
The county boss said Nakuru has also partnered with investors in sanitation projects and expansion of sewerage works.
The partners include World Bank, Africa Development Bank, KfW Germany, Kenya Pooled Water Fund, VEI and Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor.Kinyanjui was speaking at the Kenya Water Summit.
"Water is a crucial enabler of all the four agendas. Most of these projects will be located in counties and it is upon us to ensure we have the sustainable supply of clean and safe water," he said.
Also present at the summit were Water and Sanitation CS Simon Chelugui, Water PS Fred Sigor, Governors Francis Kimemia of Nyandarua, Stanley Kiptis of Baringo and Wilbur Otichilo of Vihiga.
