Tala Katine residents will in the next six months sale and purchase their economic goods from an open Business structure, known by many as Marikiti in the area.

This is after Matungulu member of national Assembly Stephen Mule paid a visit to the site where the business structure was proposed to be build and  commented on the progress that has been made so far by the contractors.​

"The contractors are doing a good job,I like the pace in which they have inflicted so far in constructing this building. By February next year, Katine residents will be conducting their trading activities from here," said Mule.Mule said that this project is geared to promoting economic development of Katine and Tala residents who have been travelling for longer distances in selling and buying of their goods.He further reiterated that the project will see a majority of unemployed youths in the area get some jobs in the town council as clerks and other positions of Council staffs within Tala and Katine areas.Mule who retained his seat as Matungulu Member of National Assembly vowed to continue working together with Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua saying that other projects will continue to be unveiled.
