President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid has been boosted ahead of repeat election slated for October 26.

This is after Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Mwandawiro Mghanga endorsed the Jubilee Party candidate in the race to State House where he is set to face NASA's Raila Odinga.

"My party has teamed up with other Jubilee-friendly parties to marshal support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the coming repeat elections. We need to re-energise the presidential campaign to ensure the President wins," he said on Sunday.

Mghanga, the former Wundanyi MP, was speaking at the Mlondo village residence of former Cabinet Minister Darius Mbela during the 10th memorial of his death.

The former political detainee accused NASA leaders led by Raila Odinga of engaging in propaganda and politics of division and hatred at the expense of development.

"I am urging SDP supporters to turn out in large numbers to vote for Uhuru and shun the Raila-group which has been dividing Kenyans across tribal lines," the former MP said.

Among the political parties that have endorsed Uhuru's reelection include PNU, Democratic Party, Farmers Party, KANU, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) and others.
