There is hope that their intense negotiations with UASU and KUSU will bear fruit by Monday so that normal learning can resume in all public universities without further interruption.

The parties are expected to hold a joint press conference on 6th November 2017 at the venue of negotiations in Cooperative University, Karen Campus at 12.00 noon.

The University dons are demanding the release of Sh5.2 billion by the government before they can resume work. UASU officials are accusing the ministries of Finance, Education and the management of public universities of colluding to curtail the collective bargaining agreements dating back to 2013.
