Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett has announced that milk prices will drop by Sh10 per 500ml packet starting, June 1.
Following the announcement, a 500ml packet of fresh milk will now cost Sh55, whereas the same size of UHT packets will cost Sh65.
Addressing the press, Wednesday, Bett said the price fall is due to government’s intervention to stabilise the price of basic commodities.
The CS also noted that prices of sugar will stabilise in two weeks’ time.
He disclosed that a kilogram of sugar will cost around Sh100.
