The Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK) is at the end of this month scheduled to visit the University of Eldoret in a move that will see engineering courses offered at the institution approved and accredited. This follows ongoing boycott of over 500 engineering students at the university who are demanding that the course be accredited by relevant bodies. The students have been boycotting classes and examinations since December last year with the university's management threatening to suspend them. However the stalemate could be resolved soon as the EBK in a letter dated January 22, 2018 said it was aware of the matter."The board, during a special meeting held on January 18, 2018 considered the invitation for an accreditation visit and resolved to undertake the visit on February 21, 2018," read part of the letter to the University of Eldoret management. The visit, according to the University's management will be the final stage of the engineering course accreditation procedure.
