This is due to domestic engagements as the clubs need their players for the ongoing KPL campaign.

AFC Leopards had earlier on threatened not to release any of their players for national team duty following their beef with Football Kenya Federation over the scheduling and the venue of the now rescheduled Mashemeji Derby that was to pit them against Gor.

The 10-day tournament begins on June 1st with the final set for the 10th of June.

Gor Mahia withdrew a total of seven players while AFC provided only two for the tournament.

Harambee Stars coach Sebastien Migne was then forced to make changes to the traveling squad and had to call in new members to cover up for the withdrawn players.

Michael Kibwage and Duncan Otieno were the only players that Ingwe released for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Erick Ouma and Kenneth Muguna of FK Tirana [Albania] and Clifford Miheso and John Makwatta of Buildcon [Zambia] were also included.

Kenya play their first match of the tournament against New Zealand on the 2nd of June before facing the hosts two days later.

The results in the first two matches will determine their fate before facing off with Chinese Taipei in the third match on the 8th.

The final will be played at the Mumbai Arena on the 10th.
