Champions-elect Gor Mahia will be without their crucial defender Karim Nizigiyimana for the remainder of the season after the Burundian picked up a near career threatening injury in October.
According to the club, Nizigiyiman is also likely to miss the CAF championships set for January owing to the nature of the injury.
Nizigiyama was stretched off barely 14 minutes into their game against Mathare United in Thika and scans and check-ups revealed that the roving defender suffered a torn Achilles tendon in his right foot and thus needed surgery.
